Here’s something I wrote during Chem while I should’ve been trying to understand the lesson of the day. My brain wasn’t focusing, and even though this poem kind of sucks, it was still more fun than the class work.

A Cabin In The Woods

A cabin in the woods

Standing tall and strong

Lonely does it stay

It’s creaking a sad song

The wind does howl

Through the mighty pines

Alone is the cabin

On the mountain’s spines

Noisily the brook flows by

Its path contorted and obstructed

Frigid waters bring tears to the eye

Fish don’t stray and avoid being abducted

The cabin sits there coolly

Oblivious to it all

Its shutters are unruly

And its windows very small.

Certainly not my best work, but I prefer poems that rhyme to things that don’t.
